Around the walls are thematic displays featuring photographs, paintings, technical drawings and small objects interpreting various aspects of the development and decline of railways in Ireland.

Themes covered include:

  • The origins or Irelands railways
  • Building of the railways
  • Passengers and workers
  • Goods traffic
  • Architecture
  • Civil engineering
  • Tourism
  • Motive power
  • Signalling

These displays are brought to life by a number of locomotive and train models, and you're also able to hop on board some of our trains to explore inside!
