The Cultra Motorsport Festival is back, this time taking in the Ulster Transport Museum experience, with the famous Cultra hill climb taking place on the grounds of the Ulster Folk Museum right beside us, on the other side of the railway tracks!

Hosted in partnership with the Thoroughbred Sports Car Club NI and Porsche Centre Belfast, we have organised an action-packed day with vintage, classic and modern cars on display at Cultra Manor, including gems from the Ulster Transport Museum collection that will be released from Ulster Transport Museum’s private stores, especially for this event.

Continuing a tradition that dates back to 1905, the motorsport hill climb races will take place throughout the day around Cultra Manor, which is on the grounds of the Ulster Folk Museum - right beside the Transport Museum - beginning at 10:00. Between races there'll be circus performers, face painting, music and activities to keep the kids - and big kids! - entertained, as well as pop-up stalls to get your official Festival merchandise, spectating spaces and catering and picnic spots around the course, making this one day out that all motorsport fans can enjoy.

What does your ticket include?

  • Admission to the Ulster Transport Museum. The Ulster Folk Museum and Ulster Transport Museum now operate as two separate museums and this is an Ulster Transport Museum event. The museum will open at 9:00, so you can visit the museum before the races begin and we will remain open until 18:00, so you have the option to come after the racing is over.
  • As this event takes in the two museums, admission to the town area of the Ulster Folk Museum between the hours of 9:00 -18:00 is included in your ticket. See our craft demonstrators at work, visit McCusker's pub (whilst being responsible), the Corner Shop and museum gift shop will all be open.
  • Access to the race area at Cultra Manor.
  • Access to the race paddock.
  • A free programme (while stock lasts).
  • Access to a range of food places, including within the race area at Cultra Manor, at the Ballycultra Tearoom at the Ulster Folk Museum and at the Midlands Tearoom inside the Ulster Transport Museum. Or do feel free to bring along a picnic and blanket to set up camp on the grass areas or there are picnic benches at both museums.
  • A free, accessible bus will be available on-site to support with transportation to overflow parking areas and to the race area.
  • The Ulster Folk Museum and Ulster Transport Museum now operate as two separate museums. General admission to the Ulster Folk Museum will not be available due to the proximity of the race course to the museum entrance. Only the town area at the Ulster Folk Museum will be open to ticketholders.

(General admission to the Ulster Transport Museum will be available on the day if you do not wish to attend the Motorsport Festival but will be limited. Walk-ups may not be possible if the site reaches full capacity).
